At 292 Performance, we bring elite-level preparation to high-performing individuals. So when TalkSport’s Ollie Clink came to us ahead of his Soccer Aid debut, we gave him the same experience we offer Premier League players and Olympic medallists.
Partnering with STATSports, we put Ollie through a session that tested his physical capacity, his resilience, and his sense of humour. Watch below.
Real-Time Metrics
Led by our founder Dr Ben Rosenblatt — former Head of Physical Performance for the England men’s national team — the session was built to replicate the real physical demands of a Soccer Aid match.
Ollie may be more familiar with the commentary box than the six-yard box, but that didn’t save him from:
- Full-pitch recovery sprints from corners
- Short, sharp direction changes to track attackers
- Technical passing under fatigue
- High-speed transitions with heart-rate and movement data tracked in real-time
Using STATSports GPS tracking, we compared Ollie’s performance directly to data from elite players, giving him an honest look at what it takes to operate at the top level.
“We use the same metrics with Premier League clubs,” Ben explains. “Whether it’s sprint distance, high-speed running, deceleration load or max velocity, we’re able to show how someone stacks up against the very best.”
⚽ Data Is The Difference
At 292, we work with some of the most physically gifted athletes in the world — but every athlete is unique. As Ben told Ollie:
“Harry Kane is incredibly powerful. Kyle Walker’s got world-class speed. Grealish and Foden have endurance for days. They all optimise their own physical attributes to meet the demands of the game.”
It’s a principle we apply to every individual we support. The stats don’t lie — and that’s what makes them powerful.
