292 Performance delivered a full‑day CPD workshop for the FC Köln academy performance staff.
The day was designed to support coaches working in high‑demand environments where clarity and judgement matter more than novelty.
The morning focused on planning and programme design. Topics included how to:
Coaches were taken through the 292 physical profiling principles, how data informs decisions, and how programmes are written to reflect both physical demands and the realities of academy football. The session was discussion‑led. Concepts were tested against the coaches’ environment to ensure transfer, not theory.
The practical component transitioned to the gym and pitch. Using a typical international football session, sprinting and change of direction were coached as foundational movement skills. Demonstrations of how session structure can be manipulated to increase coaching impact without adding unnecessary load was also discussed.
The day concluded with applied work on exercise selection. Coaches built and refined exercises based on clear principles of muscular, musculo‑tendinous, and coordinative overload, ensuring stimulus quality and relevance to their context.
This CPD reflected how 292 Performance works:
We had a great workshop with Ben Rosenblatt on Profiling to Programming and Behaviour Change. Ben did a great job of challenging our beliefs and systems while also providing practical tools, actionable strategies, and plenty of knowledge bombs.
